Uz
A place in the Bible
The land where Job lived, in the East. In the Douay-Rheims it is called “Hus.”
What happened here
- Job: in the land of Uz lived Job, a good and upright man, who feared God and avoided evil.
- The greatest: he had seven thousand sheep, three thousand camels, and many servants. He was the most important man in all the East.
Today
No one knows where it was. People think it was east or southeast of the Holy Land, toward Edom or Arabia.
Where it appears in the Bible
