How we verify

Every sentence about a person carries its Bible reference, and a program checks that each reference exists before anything is published.

The Bible we quote

In English we quote the Douay-Rheims Bible (Challoner revision), which is in the public domain. References follow the numbering of the New American Bible (NABRE), the one used at Mass in the United States; when the Douay-Rheims numbers a verse differently, we match it to the right passage.

Sources outside the Bible

When something comes from the Church and not from the Bible, we say so and name the source: the Catechism of the Catholic Church, its Compendium, the Roman Martyrology, papal documents on vatican.va. What comes from Tradition is labeled as Tradition.

The prayers

The prayers are copied from their official source (the USCCB, vatican.va, the Roman Missal), and each one says where it comes from.

If you find a mistake

Write to [email protected] and tell us which sentence is wrong and why. We check it with the Bible in front of us and, if you are right, we fix it.
