Jericho

A place in the Bible

Jericho

A very old city in an oasis near the Jordan River and the Dead Sea. Zacchaeus lived there.

What happened here

  1. Zacchaeus: the chief tax collector climbed a tree to see Jesus as he passed through Jericho.
  2. Bartimaeus: as Jesus left Jericho, a blind man named Bartimaeus asked Jesus to heal him.
  3. Joshua: in the Old Testament, the walls of Jericho fell when the trumpets sounded and the people shouted.
  4. A parable: the Good Samaritan helped a man who was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho.
